THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE AND OKLAHOMA POLITICS |
When reflecting on Oklahoma’s 21st century GOP, the image of the Trojan Horse remains a literary device that fits well. It contrasts Greek cleverness with Trojan unsophisticated naivety and gullibility. |
An equally relevant and a more enjoyable movie for me was Angry Birds. It was another movie my oldest grandson took me to see many years ago.
Its excellence was its success at illustrating the cultural devastation of political gullibility.
In half the time it took The Odyssey movie, Angry Birds presented with clarity the idea that not all who come bearing gifts are to be welcomed. |
Two weeks ago, I wrote about this summer’s blockbuster, the film The Odyssey and its infamous horse story. At the time, I did not envision the persistent relevance of that horse. Yet, over the past two weeks, loud and vocal elements in the Oklahoma GOP have sided with the political intuition of the Trojans!
Like the large red feathered protagonist in the Angry Birds movie, Oklahoma GOP leadership made the decision to clarify what it means to be a Republican.
And, just like the reaction of most of the other birds in the movie, the decision of GOP leadership stirred up unrelenting anger in several recognizable political and journalistic figures who trust the proverbial Greeks bearing gifts and their clever horses. |
No GOP rules were violated in leadership’s display of backbone and common sense. Yet, it has some in our state up in arms with cries of “foul.”
At issue is whether the custodians of the OKGOP have the moral responsibility to shoulder the virtues of the fundamental values of the party.
Both Gentner Drummond and Robert Franklin, who campaigned together, champion societal values in conflict with the core values of the OKGOP platform’s stated principles of government.

Were Charity Linch, and other members of the OKGOP leadership not to speak out, the assumption would be that one can run on a platform in opposition to the party platform and the party has no moral authority to guard its ideological integrity and by its silence allow the Trojan Horse entry. |
It seems to me that labels should mean something and that good leadership protects the inherent value of those labels.
With the election of Robert Franklin as the OKGOP nominee for Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction, the party has just offered to Oklahoma’s November voters a man who defies its own sacred values regarding abortion, marriage, national security, and several other key areas.
These areas of contradictions are all made clear in the book Mr. Franklin has endorsed as important reading for our young people, The Separation of Church and Hate. It is a book devoted largely to the historically failed efforts to besmirch the integrity of Scripture and to make historic Biblically based values Christian values appear foolish. |
As a result, both “OKGOP” and “Republican” have abruptly become meaningless labels in Oklahoma. They can mean either of two opposing viewpoints. That the Democrat party has degenerated into the Socialist party is well known.
Before Oklahoma is left with no party to carry the banner of Western Civilization, Republicans will do well to consider the importance of protecting the wholesome, Biblical vision in the existing platform of the GOP.
A vision now clearly at risk. In the Angry Birds movie, “Big Red” (the protagonist) wound up saving the avian society and their island home by virtue of his principled, wise, and sagacious posture.
I only hope the same effort will bear fruit in Oklahoma. |

In the midst of political darkness, God has born testimony in His good time.
Out of China’s Hubei Province came the 2019 world-wide plague from Wuhan.
IT BECAME A REPROACH TO THE WORLD.
By happenstance, only a few months later in 2020, and in the adjacent Hunan Province to the south, there was uncovered for the world to see new evidence of the world-wide judgement of God which had occurred more than 4,000 years ago.
Noah, the ship-building chronicler, wrote of this great global flood when he recorded the Creator’s teleological intentions. All found in the book of Genesis and all suggesting that history is His Story indeed. |
On January 28 this year, a six-year-old discovery of a mass grave was finally made public by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Road construction in 2020 in China’s Hunan Province uncovered the unsettling and extraordinarily well-preserved remains of close to 100 different animal species formerly unknown to mankind.
Combined, there are 153 different animal species in a mass-burial site containing over 50,000 fossils. These were, of course, the less fortunate ones who were not in possession of a boarding pass to Noah’s Ark.
They became, instead, a source of income for the paleontologist.
INTRODUCING HUAYUAN BIOTA
The team of paleontologists was led by Professor Maoyan Zhu. The find, called Huayuan biota (because it was found in Hunan), left these Chinese experts marveling at the exceptional condition of the find, much of it “soft-bodied biota,” indicating sudden and rapid burial in the context of a catastrophic event. (High-speed interment.). |
For one who is not married to the (unproven) metaphysical time and age assumptions of 20th century “science,” the find is indicative of a graveyard not more than a few thousands of years old. This discovery represents an evidentiary contribution to many previously known soft tissue finds where remains have yet to lose their elasticity.

The report printed in the January 28 issue (2026) of Nature Magazine indicated that in some of the organisms, the entire alimentary canal, including the mid-gut and the digestive glands were discernible.
Delicate gill lamellae and associated vascular appendages for gas exchange and respiration could be seen. They found brains, ganglia, parts of cardiovascular systems, feeding appendages, muscle bundles and fine details of compound eyes.
CMI Scientist, Philip Bell, wrote:
The preservational quality is mind-blowing … . If you sent a time traveler back to the Cambrian period armed with a camera and an x-ray machine, the images they’d come back with would be nothing compared to these fossils, which preserve detail finer than a human hair.
For organisms to be preserved so perfectly, the dead animal must firstly be protected from scavengers. Secondly, oxygen should be excluded as far as possible, to limit decomposition and decay through the action of bacteria and fungi.
The CAS scientists believe the creatures were overwhelmed by a submarine mudflow, which makes very good sense. |
The lead author of the Nature paper was quoted in New Scientist magazine:
Zeng says the reason for the exquisite preservation found at the site is that the animals were buried very quickly under a slurry of fine mud.
The soft parts of animals are preserved in extraordinary detail, including walking legs, antennae and tentacles, respiratory organs such as gills, the pharynx and guts in many animals and even eyes and neural tissues (emphasis added).
Hence, a perfect substantiation of the Biblical account of the world-wide flood of Noah’s day and the preservation of soft, elastic tissue indicates the assumption of millions of years is one which should, despite the pressure to maintain an atheistic posture, be jettisoned. |
The lesson of this story from the world of science is this:
While the epistemological foundation of human ontology and anthropology can be found only in the first chapter of the book of Genesis, the entire book represents the epistemological foundation for the cosmos and all human history. |

Kendra Wesson is stepping aside from other responsibilities to work full time with Ryan Walters and the Teacher Freedom Alliance (TFA) with a goal of providing teachers a pro-America Christian environment within which to work.
Thus far, the effort has been massively successful as thousands of teachers are fleeing the pro-Marxist teacher unions including the National Teachers Association (NEA).
