Why do legislators miss an occasional vote? What are the biggest challenges in running for office, and once elected, in serving in office? Four of Oklahoma’s leading conservative legislators will be at OCPAC to answer these questions and more.

There are dozens of surveys that candidates are asked to answer. Are these helpful to either the candidates or to the voters? See what our guests think on this topic. Please come and have a candid conversation with four highly respected, conservative legislators.

Ancient Pathways:
Hope for the Future
 by Bob Linn
This Wednesday, OCPAC will feature a number of issues impacting life in Oklahoma. Featured will be current Oklahoma legislators who will discuss the role played by the Conservative Index as they consider how to vote on legislation. The index bridges the gap between our state and federal constitutions and the legislation our elected lawmakers create. Lawmakers trained, for the most part, in government schools. Government school curriculums ignore the intellectual foundations of human achievement which has brought us to the 21st century. As a result, we are ill-prepared to lead our own generation governmentally, let alone develop the foundations for future generations.

The Oklahoma Constitution’s Conservative Index reminds us of the unchanging standards without which no culture can flourish. For forty years, the index has sought to remind Oklahoma’s legislators that law-making must not be the product of guess-work and experimentation. Legislation based on poorly educated instinct places issues of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in jeopardy.

Principles of good government are not hard to come by nor are they particularly new. Godly men long ago have used age-old and unchanging fundamentals which have been available through the many centuries of Christendom. Constantine (272AD-337 AD) led the way for the multi-national development of governments who would look to Moses as the foundation of law.
Alfred the Great (847-899), King of Wessex, King of the Anglo Saxons, understood the superiority of Biblical thought in governmental affairs. A full 1/3 of what we call the Legal Code of Alfred the Great is filled with Mosaic law. He patterned his code of laws after three other Christian kingdoms.

Additional governmental affirmation of the rule of law (and not the tyranny of the elite) followed with the Magna Carta. It was agreed to by England’s King John at Runnymede on June 15, 1215. With that came and the establishment of the English system of justice.
The Magna Carta’s concept of the rule of law would be the inspiration for the title of Scottish Presbyterian Samuel Rutherford’s book Lex Rex, the Law and the Prince (1644). Lex Rex is a book that contained more than 400 pages. It laid the foundation of Christian governmental thought, the bulwark of the formation of the American Colonies. It was the very foundation of the eventual fight for independence from an English government which had become a tyranny.
Because most American children attend government schools, managed by the National Education Association and the U.S. Department of Education, the historical realities of Western Civilization are unknown. Actually, they are despised by the leftist elite.

The mythic history promoted by Western political elites have produced a generation with little regard for liberty, property rights, and the rule of law. America’s youth cherish government mandated redistribution of material goods. Over 50% of millennials prefer socialism to liberty.
Oklahoma owes a debt of gratitude to Ron McWhirter and Steve Byas for the project they initiated 40 years ago to provide a guiding light to the Oklahoma Legislature. They have uncovered fifteen hundred years of guiding principles. Gleaning the wisdom of Christendom and the amazing political progress which gave us the freest nation the world has known, they provide a light to those who gather in the springtime under Oklahoma’s political dome to carve our future. May the Conservative Index continue to light the way for Oklahoma law-makers for many generations to come.

Come hear legislators comment on life in the House and Senate and how the index impacts the legislative process.

Representative Jason Lowe Holds News Conference
Files Petition for State-wide Vote
to Repeal Constitutional Carry
Last Monday, Representative Jason Lowe, a Democrat, announced that he had filed a referendum petition to ask Oklahoma voters to undo Oklahoma's new constitutional carry law (HB 2597).

Representatives from a number of organizations joined him at the news conference. These included Young Democrats of America and Moms Demand Action.

They have until Friday to collect 60,000 signatures to put it on the ballot.

Constitutional carry states are the safest states in the union. We wonder what these folks are thinking. We know what the globalists are thinking. They need a population to be not only dumbed down, but also disarmed. For this reason, we are filing a protest today at 1 PM.

PROTEST BRIEF WILL BE FILED
TODAY AT 1 PM
OK2A, OCPAC, OTU
Speaker of the House, Charles McCall
Members of both House and Senate

With a major amount of work over the weekend being done by OK2A president Don Spencer, attorney Kevin Calvey, and attorney Robert Robles, a brief has been finalized to present to the Oklahoma Supreme Court to put a stop to the attempt by a few leftists to stop what Oklahomans have been seeking for years: the application of constitutional law! Thanks to the many legislators from both the House and Senate who have come together over the weekend to request today that the court declare State Question 803, Referendum Petition 26, to be legally insufficient.

Find the brief here.

Interim Study on Vaccinations
HEARING
FUND RAISER
September 10, 2019
There will be a 1:30 PM meeting on Tuesday, September 10, at the Oklahoma Capitol to hear Del Bigtree, the award-winning executive producer of the movie Vaxxed. The meeting will be in Room 432A.

Later that evening, from 7 PM to 9 PM, a fund-raising dinner will feature Del Bigtree. Liza Greve, President of Oklahomans for Health and Parental Rights (OHPR), is launching the first annual Freedom will ROAR fundraising dinner. This is a newly formed nonprofit seeking to educate Oklahoma communities on medical privacy, health choice, parental rights, and informed consent. The goal is to develop funds to provide educational materials to schools, churches, and to the OHPR activists state-wide! More information here.

Trump Defunds Planned Parenthood
A week ago, Planned Parenthood announced it will be no longer receiving their customary $60 million in annual Title X grants. Thanks to President Trump's Protect Life (Title X) Rule. The new rule mandates that Title X providers maintain physical, and financial separation from locations which provide abortions.

Please go to the AFA link here to thank the president for his outstanding leadership in saving the taxpayer these funds.
Showing how far our "mainstream" news media have drifted, NBC News is in an uproar over the move. They complain about this taking taxpayer money out of the pockets of illegal aliens! The news outlet complains on behalf of the illegal aliens who want you to fund their abortion: "Their desperation will be measured in the de facto abortion tax they will pay: not just the added time and cost of driving to a faraway clinic, but also...the psychological stress an undocumented single mother endures when she spends the last of her savings and takes risks of travelling across state lines while trying to avoid exposing herself to immigration authorities."
The OCPAC compact with City Elders is significant for both organizations. Most importantly, it is significant for the future of Oklahoma. Consider making plans to attend the Grand Opening banquet in Tulsa Friday night, October 4, 2019. It is a fund raiser. Dinner is $100 per plate.

Hear the vision of City Elders here.
Lunch will be Served!
We have a $7 lunch solution through Eagle One Pizza.

It is one of Oklahoma's highest rated pizza kitchens and they make it all fresh from scratch. Rated A+.

"Authentic pizza made from the finest ingredients: fresh basil, olive oil, vine-ripened fresh tomatoes & fresh mozzarella."

The $7 includes the $2 meeting room fee.

Tea and water are provided.
