The ever-present flame of Culture | History records the lives of a few, both good and evil, who influence the flow of thoughts and ideas from one generation to another.
The former President of Princeton, Presbyterian preacher Samuel Davies’s (1723-1761), possessed rhetorical skills which were known on both sides of the Atlantic.
In 1755, he preached a sermon to his congregation in Virginia reflecting the way in which divine providence gifted some men with what he called a “heroic turn of mind.”
He said, “To some he has given a turn for intellectual improvement, and the liberal arts and sciences; to others a genius for trade; to others a dexterity in mechanics, and the ruder arts, necessary for the support of human life.” | Then, preacher Samuel Davies went on to encourage all his people to “engage in the heroic.”
He reminded his congregation that the inaction of the righteous enables tyrants to enslave and ruin entire nations.
He said, “You have answered the end of this life already by preparing for another; and how can you depart off this mortal stage more honorably, than in the cause of liberty, of religion, and your country?”
It was of this “heroic turn of mind” that Samuel Adams had in mind when he wrote:
“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.” ~Samuel Adams | Reformed pastor Jonathan Mayhew (1720-1766) left us our marching orders when he said:
“A spirit of domination is always to be guarded against, both in church and state, even in times of apparent security. Civil tyranny is usually small in in the beginning, like a drop in a bucket; till at length like a mighty torrent or the raging waves of the sea, it bears down all before it and deluges whole countries and empires … Tyranny brings ignorance and brutality along with it. It degrades men from their just rank into the class of brutes. … There is nothing great or good where tis influence reaches. It therefore becomes every lover of truth and of human kind, every true lover of God and of the Christian religion, to bear a part in opposing this hateful monster.” | In 1776, Thomas Paine spoke of the American crisis when he said:
“These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; … Tyranny, like Hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly … Neither have I so much of the infidel in me, as to suppose that He has relinquished the government of the world, and given us to the care of devils … If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace … I am as confident, as I am that God governs the world, that America will never be happy till she gets clear of foreign dominion.” | Nathan Hale (1755-1775) was a school teacher commissioned as a lieutenant.
He volunteered to go under cover to obtain enemy intelligence.
In time, he was discovered by the British and hung.
Moments before his hanging, he said quite calmly:
“I only regret, that I have but one life to lose for my country.” | Patrick Henry, encouraging his fellow countrymen to engage in the fight for freedom from tyranny, knew that the balance of power was with the Americans.
He understood that God alone decided the destiny of nations and, because of that, America would not be fighting her battles alone.
He employed his God-given gifts when he said: | “There is no retreat but in submission to slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war in inevitable – and let it come! … Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbit it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take, but as for me … give me liberty, or give me death!” | Three weeks later, British Redcoats moved to disarm the colonists. On April 19, 1776, a gun was fired at the armed churchmen of Lexington. Quoting Ralph Waldon Emerson, it was the shot heard around the world. | It began a skirmish which ended on October 19, 1781, when British General Charles Cornwallis surrendered 8,000 men to General George Washington in Yorktown. | Thus opened a major chapter in World history which began with 56 brave men who mutually pledged to each other their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor by signing, on behalf of all the colonists, the Declaration of Independence from British tyranny.
Nine of these men lost their lives and others lost their fortunes. They suffered much, as did many others, others who represented but a minority of the colonists. They did all this on our behalf and on behalf of future generations who would occupy the world stage.
We must do no less.
This Wednesday, two of Oklahoma’s leading Christian patriots will speak. They will speak of the state of our culture and the pathways to victory. Come to lend your hand in Christian patriotism by joining arms to insure a better Oklahoma for our children. | We are all working together to save each of our states and to save America! | I'll see you this Wednesday!

Donate: | THE PASSING OF OCPAC's DOUG KEMPER | FOUNDER, MEDICINE PARK AQUARIUM | Doug Kemper passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021. He had become quite an activist in the work to protect Oklahoma's future and to save America. He had emerged as the leader of Lawton's OCPAC core.
He was a very gifted man and his passing is a shock and a great loss. No further details are available at the time of publication.

While the SA&I is still non-compliant after 259 days, we move on without Ms. Byrd's assistance ...
In recent weeks we have begun providing a framework in which the actions of the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) and the Office of the State Auditor & Inspector (SA&I) can be brought into the light.
There is no reason for Oklahoma's taxpayers to tolerate corruption in any of Oklahoma's many agencies.
Oklahoma's taxpayers are funding the retirement of Gary Jones. Should we be?
We also wonder if there is a reason Oklahoma taxpayers should be funding the retirement of Gary Jones, whose apparently admitted level of incompetence may have cost another CPA their license, or at best, a lot of money in malpractice penalties.
PAST EFFORTS TO SWEEP AGENCY DIRT UNDER THE RUG | Was this only a perceived financial crisis?
After revelations by the OSDH CFO in 2017, former SA&I (Gary Jones), along with disgraced former State Attorney General (Mike Hunter), informed the public that the OSDH problems were only a perceived financial crisis.
Former SA&I Jones stated that "The Whistleblower" (the former CFO) did not understand the movement of internal government funds used by the OSDH.
Jones reported in part of his investigative report (P. 36 Bottom, here) that the CFO "explicitly stated" to the SA&I that a $30 million cash infusion would be needed for the Department of Health (OSDH).
We now have the written documents provided to SA&I Gary Jones. It appears to us that Jones never had the slightest idea of what was going on at the OSDH until written notification from the former CFO.
THE "WHISTLEBLOWER" (CFO) TO JONES: A VIOLATION OF FUND ACCOUNTING | In 2017, the CFO specifically informed Jones (Item #23, here) that there was a "Violation of transparency of basic Fund Accounting; [R]yan White commingled with other dollars."
We are now able to show you the Jones SA&I audit report for the fiscal year ended June 30 2017 which followed the CFO's notification above.
JONES RESPONDS
Jones stated (P.2 Para. 1: here): "The Department did not maintain separate accounting/fund for the HIV Care Grant (Ryan White program) rebates in the Statewide Accounting System. The rebate funds were comingled with other federal funds; [t]herefore, OSDH is unable to support that Ryan White program rebate funds were used in accordance with Federal regulation[s]."
Oklahoma Auditor (SA&I) Cindy Byrd has noted those comingled funds were substantial. She indicates they were more than $20 million. This certainly appears to indicate some sort of a financial crisis at the Health Department (OSDH) in Oklahoma. It had to be much more than a mismanaged cash register for money like that to be handled so improperly.
Were the audits of the Health Department prior to the scandal legitimate?
If former SA&I Jones had conducted legitimate audits in the previous years leading up to the events from the scandal, why did he publicly say: "It's obvious its (the OSDH) been messed up for decades."? (May 17, 2018 joint press conference with Jones and Hunter)
WHAT JONES SAID HE DID And yet, he could not tell then that OSDH finances were "messed up for decades"?
Here's some of what Jones said that he did in the audit for the year prior to the scandal (P.2, here) and yet he was not able to tell at that point that it had been "messed up for decades"...or was he?: | "We conducted our audit of compliance in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America; the standards applicable to financial audits contained in Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States; and the audit requirements of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance). Those standards and the Uniform Guidance require that we plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether noncompliance with the types of compliance requirements referred to above that could have a direct and material effect on a major federal program occurred. An audit includes examining, on a test basis, evidence about the State of Oklahoma’s compliance with those requirements and performing such other procedures as we considered necessary in the circumstances."
Finally, the OSDH contact for the Ryan White fund problems Jones supposedly uncovered was none other than Kim Bailey (See "Contact Person" P. 2, here). Bailey was the person reported as having an extra-marital affair with former Attorney General Hunter (Daily Oklahoman June 2, 2021).
This investigation continues to grow and is becoming more and more deserving of an examination into the "investigators". More to come... | OUR TEAM OF EXPERTS CONTINUE TO REVIEW MATERIALS

It is important to expose these enemies who have crept into Christendom. These have entered our Christian institutions in an effort to destroy the Church. The "gospel" they promote will bear no fruit. Marxist ideology mixed with Bible verses will produce neither salvation nor the health, peace, and prosperity of civilizations.
Marxist concepts like social justice, critical race theory and the myths inherent in the concept of "white privilege" are ungodly, contrary to all of the Scriptures, and represent evil and destructive weapons designed to destroy the church, the family, and societies. They are drenched in narcissism and hatred.
