THE POLITICAL TOLERANCE FOR EVIL |
Yesterday, speaking to Fox news, President Trump described his would-be assassin this way:
He had a lot of hatred in his heart for quite a while . . . It was a religious thing; it was strongly anti-Christian. |
I have been unable to find the social media posts which indicate his hatred of Christianity. However, he clearly did not advocate that “old time religion” some of us sang about long ago in our country churches.
I have also been unable to firmly document that he was a “Teacher of the Year” award winner in California, though I imagine there is truth to those reports.
What I do know is that his hatred for the return of the nation to its Christian roots reflects the posture of America’s institutions of higher education and the secondary schools they heavily influence.
A welcome breeze of common sense swept through the Land last week when the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled last week that every state in the union has the right to require its government-controlled classrooms to display the Ten Commandments. |
This ruling came as lower court judges had blocked legislation in both Texas and Louisiana which makes this a requirement.
Gary Bauer wrote of the confused reasoning of the (anti-Christian) political left in his comments last week. He said:
Many of the people who are screaming, “You can’t let a child see the Ten Commandments at school,” are the same people demanding that your child spend “quality” reading time with drag queens. They’re the same people who want your 7-year-old to be taught about gay sex and encouraged to question their “gender identity.” And if we say, “I don’t want my child subjected to that,” their answer is, “You don’t get to decide.” |
This is, of course, the posture of the National Education Association (NEA) and the American Library Association (ALA). The ALA aggressively promotes pornographic books in school libraries.
This, of course, is activity affirmed by The University of Oklahoma’s President, Joe Harroz and is reflected in the programs he and his administrators endorse.
This is reflected in the $56,000 annual budget for drag queens which I imagine we have all read about.
Last week, Adam Pugh, Chairman of the Senate Education committee, had the opportunity of arguing for the passage of HB 2798, a bill designed to eliminate the many books detailing pornographic materials in Oklahoma’s school libraries.
Adam Pugh declined. Through his silence (and I imagine through pre-arranged voting deals), Adam allowed the legislation to die. As Dietrich Bonhoffer famously said:
Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.
He was, of course, executed for his moral fiber. |
Trans-Republicans Kelly Hines and Dave Rader voted no with the three Democrats, assuring that pornography would continue to thrive in the libraries of Oklahoma’s elementary schools.
Again, Edmond’s Adam Pugh, chairman of the committee, said nothing in favor of the bill. The guaranteed “no” votes of Hines & Rader enabled Pugh to vote “yes,” suggesting to Oklahoma voters he was a lion in the defense of the innocent eyes and ears of our little ones.
His silence on the bill, and the lack of his name as a co-author of the bill spoke volumes in the other direction. |
These three senators are products of more than 100 years of secularization of our universities. The entire culture of America has been impacted by this secularization.
Last month, James Manzi of the University of Oxford (Oxford, UK), published research entailing more than 600,000 English-language social science abstracts (research studies). What the research found was not surprising. Most all (90%) indicated clear sympathy to leftist ideology. Our universities are training revolutionaries!
Renowned British historian and philosopher, Christopher Dawson (1889-1970) wrote in his The Historic Reality of Christian Culture:
The more completely secularized public education becomes, and the more the State acquires an educational monopoly, as it is bound to so, the more the Christian element in culture will diminish and the more complete will be the victory of secularization as the working religion, or rather counter religion, of the American people. |
Dr. Gordon Clark (1902-1985), American philosopher and theologian, wrote in his book A Christian View of Men and Things:
Clearly, the idea of God does not dominate contemporary thinking. Even devoted Christians fail to see any close connection between their faith and other matters of interest. Similarly, in colleges, not only have specific courses in Theism been dropped, but the Christian presuppositions that previously pervaded the entire curriculum have been abandoned, and the philosophy that most influences students in all departments is humanism or naturalism. |
The great American political philosopher, Russell Kirk (1918-1994) wrote that history is the life of a people either in search for God or in flight from God.
With Senators like the three above who have failed to protect the innocents (and the innocence) of Oklahoma but chose rather to let the door to evil remain open, we have no hope for a robust future. _____________
And, as I have argued for the past three weeks, we need to ask God for a Governor who will transform our universities into real centers of academia and morality by transforming our current regent boards into boards who will not allow the likes of O.U. President Joe Harroz to spend university resources on pornography and WOKE ideology.
Only after our university Board of Regents are transformed will our high schools and elementary schools be populated with teachers and administrators who hold to the Christian view of civilization and its heroes. Only then will our children understand the history of the world and the impact of godless atheism on governments. |

SPLC HAS BEEN A FRAUD FOR DECADES |
This week’s indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for “manufacturing racism to justify its existence” and for “using donor money to profit off Klansmen” should not surprise you. If the SPLC ever was a legitimate humanitarian organization, it ceased being that decades ago. |
Here are two examples.
Ten years ago, the University of Utah announced its intent to award an honorary degree during its 2016 commencement ceremonies to philanthropist Lynette Nielsen Gay. Dr. Gay is the founder of Engage Now Africa and of the Ensign College of Public Health in Kepong, Ghana. Her impressive biography includes leadership roles in organizations such as Choice Humanitarian, Family Watch International, and the World Congress of Families (WCF).
After making its announcement, however, the University of Utah chose to edit Dr. Gay’s resume on its website. They expunged any references to the World Congress of Families from her vita. Why? The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and its aligned subsidiary organization, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), had labeled the WCF a “hate group.” |
More specifically, the Southern Poverty Law Center officially condemned the World Congress of Families for its belief in the “natural family” as a “fundamental unit of society.” The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), then, added that the WCF “exported hate” because of its pro-family agenda.
For the SPLC and the HRC, it was completely unacceptable to even suggest that it is best for children to have a married mom and dad raising them. This terrible idea of promoting the virtues of the nuclear family was deemed as “phobic,” “extreme,” and “draconian.” For believing in all of this “hate-filled propaganda,” Dr. Gay’s full resume had to be hidden from the public record.
If you think this is just a one-off and an exception to the rule as to how the SPLC operates, you’d be wrong.
A handful of years ago, I had the privilege of speaking to the same organization for which Dr. Gay was condemned for being a part of. I was chosen to be a keynote speaker at the World Congress of Families annual assembly, where approximately 3,300 people of different faiths, creeds, cultures, and backgrounds gathered from around the world for one simple and common cause: the traditional family. |
As I have already said, the WCF believes it is a good idea for one man and one woman to be committed to one another in marriage as they raise their children. Put simply, the WCF believes in moms and dads raising their kids. It believes little girls and boys do best when they have confidence that their mothers and fathers are committed to each other and to them. It believes that children are happier, people are healthier, and countries are freer when a man and woman are married and take responsibility for their own children. This was the singular topic for WCF’s annual conference, and for agreeing with this shocking idea and saying so publicly, I was put on the “Right Wing Watch” and branded a “hater” by the SPLC.
So, here’s the take-home from this week’s news.
The SPLC indictment is long overdue. This organization has been little but the mouthpiece of left-wing lunacy for decades. The moral to this story is indeed about a hate group, but those doing the hating are not the World Congress of Families, you, or me.
Traditional mothers and fathers are not the bigots here. Those who believe marriage is defined by God and not the government are not the haters. The nuclear family is not the one peddling the malicious, extreme propaganda. It is the Southern Poverty Law Center and all its similarly aligned organizations that are the true “hate groups,” and now we have the proof. In their efforts to foment anger, resentment, violence, division, and civil unrest, they have actually been seeding the literal hate and racial violence of organizations such as the KKK, the Proud Boys, and others with their own money! |
The Southern Poverty Law Center and those supporting it are the real villains in this story, not the good Catholics, Evangelicals, and Orthodox Christians who just want to be left alone to raise their children to be decent moral human beings. The real haters here are those bankrolling racism and resentment, not those trying to teach their sons and daughters why all this garbage is wrong.
As I said above, the SPLC’s hypocrisy should not surprise anyone. In fact, Jesus himself told us to expect it: “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” (John 15:18,19) Followers of Christ have always been accused of the very hatred that they themselves suffer. |
But there is good news! Regardless of name-calling, manipulation, lies, and deceit, light always wins over darkness: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not [and will not] overcome it.” Sooner or later evil always gets exposed. |

Kendra Wesson is stepping aside from other responsibilities to work full time with Ryan Walters and the Teacher Freedom Alliance (TFA) with a goal of providing teachers a pro-America Christian environment within which to work.
Thus far, the effort has been massively successful as thousands of teachers are fleeing the pro-Marxist teacher unions including the National Teachers Association (NEA).
