MEETING BEGINS AT NOON

Our keynote speaker is Dustin Rowe, noted for his dynamic speaking ability and his Christian life. He will discuss the difference between simple democracies, democratic republics and constitutional republics.

Lee Matthews interviewed Bob Linn twice over the summer regarding the Oklahoma Board of Education and will be at our meeting to shake your hand, say a few words about Oklahoma's Talk Station Freedom 96.9, and address the way Charlie Kirk transformed communication to our youth.

We will also honor Dr. Everett Piper who made it possible to provide Bob Linn with a needed sabbatical period over the summer months. He will speak about the positive impact of the life of Charlie Kirk.

Well before the shooter pulled the trigger on the campus of Utah Valley University, the Lord Jesus Christ stood in expectation of the long-anticipated moment when Charlie Kirk would be elevated to the role of Christian martyr.

On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, our Lord stood with the same anticipation as he did just before Stephen’s martyrdom, the defining moment we read about in the seventh chapter of the book of Acts.

Even as the shooter positioned himself on the rooftop, a myriad of angels, with the Lord Jesus standing at the forefront, were waiting at the gates of heaven. They awaited the moment when, by the eternal plan and providence of God, Charlie would suddenly be elevated far above his earthly his role as America’s most noted Christian leader, evangelist, and transformer of the minds of the nation’s future leaders.

The moment the bullet was transported from its chamber to its target, Charlie was transported from his position in front of thousands of college students to be welcomed by the hosts of heaven. Mourned by stunned millions, the earthly tears of grief and sorrow which flowed were in sharp contrast to the elation and joy of the heavenly host.

Charlie Kirk had just joined Abel, Enoch, Noah, and Abraham as a royal member of the great cloud of witnesses the eleventh chapter of the book of Hebrews describes.

There is much earthly reason for the joy in heaven.  In the short time since the assassin’s shot was fired, more than 26,000 new chapter requests have come to the ministry of Turning Point USA.  Erika, his wife, has stated that what Charlie began will now erupt as an overwhelming movement beyond our imagination.

At 12:23 Mountain time, the shooter pulled the trigger that triggered the ascendence of thousands more voices now ready to boldly and publicly trumpet the cry that Jesus is Lord and that mankind flourishes as Christianity flourishes.

To God be the glory

Great things he has done.

Join me this Wednesday to honor Charlie Kirk with TPUSA students from a variety of campuses and Mason Cottrell, TPUSA director for Oklahoma.

Below, Dr. Piper comments on the impact of Charlie Kirk.

THE LEFT'S RESPONSE TO

CHARLIE KIRK'S MURDER IS EVIL

Have you ever questioned the Judeo-Christian teaching that mankind is evil? Have you ever recoiled at the Old Testament's claim that "the heart is deceitful above all things" or felt uncomfortable with Saint Paul's accusation that, apart from Christ, all of us suffer the curse of a "reprobate mind"? Well, if you have, then this week's response to Charlie Kirk's assassination should remove all doubt. We are indeed a wicked and broken race.

CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING

Charles H.F. Davis, a professor at the University of Michigan, immediately posted this about Kirk's murder:

Violence… is a solution, especially to...violent rhetoric...

MSNBC's Matthew Dowd added by saying he believed Charlie Kirk was one of our country's "most divisive" figures. Charlie, he said:

was constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech. Hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions….

CBS's Nate Burleson jumped in and condemned what he called Kirk's "rhetoric," claiming it was "offensive."

And then there's the story of the Democrats in the House of Representatives who stunningly villainized the victim by refusing to even participate in a brief prayer for his wife and children.

The list goes on and on with tens of thousands of the "tolerant" and woke crowd on BlueSky, X, Facebook, and Instagram, chiming in, not just to blame Charlie for his own assassination but to celebrate his death.

Now, the obvious question should be "what was it that Charlie Kirk said that warranted all this 'contextualization,' animosity, and vitriol?"

Well, here's a list of some of the topics Charlie addressed repeatedly on college campuses across the country.

First, he opposed killing babies. Charlie believed in the dignity of every human being, and he worked tirelessly to stop the powerful from compromising the lives of the weak.

Second, Charlie condemned the genital mutilation of children and the chemical sterilization of minors, and he challenged all comers to tell him how it could possibly be a good thing to sacrifice the innocence of little boys and girls on the altar of adult sexual nihilism.

Third, Charlie defended the traditional family. He told young men their first duty was to be responsible fathers and faithful husbands. He also spoke against the misogyny of males intruding in female sports and the science-denying nonsense of telling little boys that they can become girls or vice versa.

Fourth, Charlie championed legal immigration and the rule of law. He believed that all criminals should be punished and argued that we should judge people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Fifth, Charlie was a proponent of free speech and religious liberty. He believed in the ideas of our Founding Fathers, and he challenged college students across the country to read them before they disparaged them.

Sixth, Charlie cherished honest dialogue and a robust debate. He practiced what he preached by including everybody, even those who disagreed with him the most. He believed respectful conversations were better than intransigence. He thought debate was better than trigger warnings, deplatforming, censorship, and "safe spaces."

Finally, and most importantly, Charlie spoke openly about being a sinful man in need of God’s grace and that the only thing that matters in the end is repentance and confession. He didn't think he was better than anyone else, and he, in fact, modeled the words of John Newton: "I remember two things... I am a great sinner, and Christ is a great savior."

In other words, Charlie Kirk was a Christian. He grounded nearly everything he said in this worldview and invited everyone to the conversation. He gave them a microphone. He gave them his time. He gave them an audience. And then he politely told them whether he agreed or disagreed.

And for this and this alone, Charlie Kirk was executed.

Anyone who doesn't see this as sick and wicked, but instead tries to "contextualize" it, is proof of the evil that lurks within every human heart.

I don't care what your politics are; if you do not respond with unqualified disgust to the murder of a man who simply wanted to talk to college students, then there's something deeply wrong with your soul.

Blaming Charlie Kirk for his own execution, refusing to pray for his wife and kids, and celebrating his death, is pure unmitigated evil.

Killing a man simply because you don't like what he says is debased and sick. Anyone not willing to condemn the murder of Charlie Kirk, without nuance, is equally evil. Those explaining away this horrendous act need look no further than their own mirror to see the ugly face that their worldview denies: Evil is real. It exists. It is in all of us. And as Charlie so frequently said, the solution is God, not more government. Salvation will never be found in ourselves. We all need a Savior.

Postscript from Bob Linn:

From the foundations of the earth, the Lamb of God was destined to transform mankind by virtue of his death & shed blood on Calvary. It remains the fundamental message of Charlie Kirk to the world.

IN CASE YOU MISSED READING

ABOUT OUR SUMMER BREAK:

We were all pleased with our spring finale with Governor Stitt and a number of luminaries. Video clips are below.

For some time, I have needed a sabbatical to catch up on my reading, to reflect, and to think more seriously about my writing. For that reason, we are taking an extended summer break and will resume September 17 at the Oklahoma History Center.

We now have an event team who will assist in our meetings which will oversee the September 17 meeting with Our Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice.  Former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft will be our guest in November.

In 2026, we will conduct weekly meetings in the spring, from February to May, in an effort to provide meaningful content for our legislators.
