AT THE HISTORY CENTER THIS WEDNESDAY OKLAHOMA FBI | | OCPAC FOUNDATION THE FBI A SORDID TALE | Stories of murders in Osage County were first told in 2018 by David Grann in his New York Times bestseller, Killers of the Flower Moon. New York Magazine described the story with the following:
A Twisting, haunting true-life murder mystery about one of the most monstrous crimes in American history from one of the preeminent adventure and true-crime writers working today.
When Oil was discovered in the Osage Nation, the Osage became the richest people per capita in the nation. They rode in chauffeured automobiles, built mansions, and sent their children to Europe to study. | | Then ... one by one, the Osage were poisoned, shot, blown up, and subjected to a reign of terror. Local law enforcement was befuddled, and the newly formed Bureau of Investigation (BOI/BI), forerunner of the FBI, was called in.
THE FBI IN INFANCY
J. Edgar Hoover cut his teeth on Oklahoma’s emboldened version of Machiavellian cunning, intrigue, and murder.
The story's importance birthed not only Grann's book, but also a major full-length movie involving many of the most prominent names in Hollywood including Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro and Brandon Fraser. | | HEAR THE STORY
To tell the story of the impact the Osage murders had on the state of Oklahoma and the fledgling Bureau of Investigation is the head of the FBI in Oklahoma, Edward J. Gray.
In 2022, Edward J. Gray was named Special Agent in Charge of Oklahoma's FBI. It followed a series of high level assignments and awards for service from his first assignment in Enid, OK to national responsibilities in Washington, D.C.
He has a fabulous presentation regarding the impact the Osage murders had on both Oklahoma and the formation of the FBI.
The Bureau of Investigation (BOI/BI) was formed in 1908 and, in 1935, changed its name to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). | OSAGE PRINCIPAL CHIEF GEOFFREY STANDING BEAR RED CARPET EVENT IN FRANCE | Osage Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear joined the all-star film crew at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival to promote the latest $200 million cinematic epic from legendary moviemaker, Martin Scorsese.

BOB LINN When Nations Forget God LAST WEEK Turning Point USA | Chaplains in Schools
MARK YOUR CALENDAR State Board of Education NOVEMBER 16, 2023 Meeting | BOB LINN When Nations Forget God | Killers of the Flower Moon details the horrific events in the Osage Nation at the dawning of the 20th century. The Reign of Terror was made possible by judges and lawyers who orchestrated a crime wave which made non-Indian conspirators in Osage County wealthy land barons.
Most of the murders remain unsolved.
The writer of Killers of the Flower Moon intends it to be:
A searing indictment of the callousness and prejudice toward American Indians that allowed the murders to operate with impunity for so long. | | For some, the murders of Osage Indians were of little importance. One observer noted that these murders were ignored, in part, because “the victims were just Injuns.”
The callous attitude of those involved reminded me of the stories told by one of OCPAC Foundation’s December speakers, China immigrant, Xi Van Fleet. Her book, Mao’s America, is a diary of the unthinkable events she witnessed.
As a child during the Maoist Revolution, she witnessed Chinese youth beating and murdering people who Mao considered to be subhuman. It was Mao’s labeling people as non-human that enabled millions to be slaughtered by their own countrymen.
It was the perspective of many in the Osage nation, especially the group who conspired to murder the Osage in order to gain their vast wealth.
For them, the people they murdered had no value.
The idea that some people are of no consequence because of their racial or cultural etymology is made possible only by the evisceration of Christianity from the core of a nation. It stems from the idea that there is no Creator who has ordained all mankind with his image and ordained them with a purpose.
The Osage conspirators reflect the troubling drift which has moved Americans from thinking like a devoutly Christian society to a people who are devoutly pragmatic.
Angelo Codevilla, in his book, The Prince: Rethinking Western Tradition indicated that Niccolo Machiavelli’s famous book of the same name might be responsible.
Niccolo Machiavelli was a practical atheist and secularist who lived from 1469 to 1527. His ideas are contained in a book he called The Prince and were published posthumously in 1532. | | For Machiavelli, murdering one’s enemies is what successful leaders do.
In his introduction to Machiavelli, Dr. Angelo Codevilla indicated the dark nature of his ideas and their influence in moving the world from its Christian foundations.
He noted that Machiavelli's central teaching (inhuman cruelty is permissible as a pathway to achievement) has permeated today's cultures.
Codevilla sought to expose what he considered one of the most despicable and vile political and cultural influences of the past 1,000 years. It was an influence that penetrated many of the leading Osage citizens in the early 1900s. | | Leo Strauss was a German American scholar of political philosophy. (1899-1973). His book, Thoughts on Machiavelli provides insight into the chilling inhumanity of Machiavelli:
Machiavelli was a teacher of evil. He teaches: princes ought to exterminate the families of rulers whose territory they wish to possess securely; princes ought to murder their opponents rather than to confiscate their property since those who have been robbed, but not those who are dead, can think of revenge; if one has to choose between inflicting severe injuries and inflicting light injuries, one ought to inflict severe injuries; one ought not to say to someone whom one wants to kill “give me your gun, I want to kill you with it,” but merely, “Give me your gun,” for once you have the gun in your hand, you can satisfy your desire.
Only an evil man will stoop to teach maxims of public and private gangsterism. | | The Osage conspirators were Machiavellian and evil!
Only a return to our Christian roots will eviscerate the impact of Machiavellian Pragmatism
What happened to the Osage Indians was the result of our Oklahoma neighbors forgetting their nation’s Christian foundation. The Osage Reign of Terror was a Machiavellian pragmatism that permeates important segments of our American culture today.
These ideas threaten to destroy civilizations not just in China and the Osage nation, but in nations the world over.
A FEW ENCOURAGING WAKEUP CALLS
Several of Europe’s thought leaders are speaking with boldness that we must return to our Christian roots.
Europe is understanding that conflicting ideological concepts are destructive to Europe’s cultural health. This is certainly the conclusion of one of Germany’s most prominent intellectuals, Jürgen Habermas. Quoting from the Acton institute:
A self-described “methodological atheist,” Habermas has been insisting for some time that Europe no longer has the luxury of wallowing in historical denial. As Habermas wrote in his 2006 book, A Time of Transitions:
Christianity, and nothing else [is] the ultimate foundation of liberty, conscience, human rights, and democracy, the benchmarks of western civilization. To this day we have no other options. We continue to nourish ourselves from this source. Everything else is postmodern chatter. | | Marcello Pera, former president of the Italian Senate states in his book Why We Should Call Ourselves Christians:
The apostasy of Christianity is exposing the entire West to the risk of a grave cultural and political crisis, and perhaps even to a collapse of civilization. | Hungary's Prime Minister, Victor Oran, believes that Europe's decline is the result of its having abandoned the Christian faith that built it:
The European crisis has not come by chance but by carelessness and neglect of their responsibilities by leaders who have questioned precisely those Christian roots. | Our calling is to not allow the evil that is in the world to intimidate us into removing our Godly voices from the civic arena.
Last Wednesday’s meeting gave me a great deal of encouragement that we will again recover our national soul and continue the course our founders began. Be sure to view the videos if you missed the meeting.
I appreciate all you do for Oklahoma.
God bless. | We are in desperate need of returning our nation and our state to Biblical foundations.
