Oklahoma will pen the next page of its history in a matter of only a few short days. The hand of the voter will determine if we make our turn to the left or the right.

We represent the center of a nation embroiled in cultural decay and shocking violence.

The political left would use it to justify the removal of individual liberty while more Christian and patriotic minds advocate for a return to our Western foundations and its vast array of successes.

Last weekend, churches across America spoke of fatherhood, a topic that represents a major battleground which will determine our future as a society.

I wish to salute our fathers who shoulder multiple responsibilities and who represent the backbone of the American family and the strength of the American social structure.

Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears of Virginia spoke at the NRA Women’s Leadership Forum last month.

She said:

America is in a battle for her children …

We weep for the fatherless homes.

She argues not against the 2nd Amendment but, rather, for a cultural transformation. Read the full transcript here.

Last Wednesday, Mark Alexander, publisher of The Patriot Post, made the case that the left’s war on the Second Amendment serves only to mask the relationship between the left’s war on the family and America’s gun violence.

He said:

While Father’s Day should be a day of celebration, it urgently needs to be a call to action. An almost universal common denominator for all the manifestations of social entropy afflicting our nation today is homes without fathers.

Mary Eberstadt, Senior Research Fellow at the Faith & Reason Institute, has made significant contributions to the American intellectual landscape through her prolific writing. In the Reagan administration, she was a speech writer for both Secretary of State George Shultz and the Hon. Jeane J. Kirkpatrick.

She is one of America’s foremost cultural analysts. On July 27, 2021, she published Critical Father Theory. She wrote:

America’s crime problem is a father problem. This is one of our country’s deepest and most denied family secrets. Everybody knows it, and everybody has known it for a very long time.

She goes on to note the left’s war against American societal health as it employs the media to debunk clear research connecting absent fathers to crime.

I say all this to connect the celebrations of the American church over the weekend regarding fatherhood to the war in America against fatherhood, the family, and America’s Christian values. Oklahoma can become part of the solution by placing those who represent family-oriented liberty ideals in our government.

To achieve a future for our children, we cannot ignore the cultural battles which rage around us and now threaten to overwhelm us.

Whether it was Patrick Henry, Wendell Phillips, Thomas Jefferson, or someone else, we remember the phrase which, in 1834, was attributed to Thomas Jefferson:

Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Liberty

Last week, I spoke of American poet, Carl Sandburg.

With Jefferson, Sandburg would agree.

In December, 1941, Sandburg wrote a poem titled

IS THERE ANY EASY ROAD TO FREEDOM

Among the lines are these:

Rest is not a word of free peoples

rest is a monarchical word

…

The fireborn are at home in the fire

…

There are freedom shouters

There are freedom whisperers.

Both may serve.

Have I, have you, been too silent?

Is there an easy crime of silence?

Is there an easy road to freedom?

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's June 8, 1978 commencement address to the graduating class at Harvard has been called the most controversial public speech he presented during the twenty years he was in exile in the West. Find it here.

He spoke of Communism, Marxism and the loss of Christian heritage. He closed by speaking of the calamity which has followed the West's decline into the ideals of human autonomy and the loss of our divine connections.

He spoke to many of us in 21^st century America when he observed:

A decline in courage may be the most striking feature that an outside observer notices in the West today.

As Carl Trueman noted in the introduction to his magnum opus, The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self:

Every age has had its darkness and its dangers. The task of the Christian is not to whine about the moment in which he or she lives but to understand its problems and respond appropriately to them.

The election of Attorney General, John O'Connor remains the top priority of informed Oklahoma patriots. Barry Goldwater Jr. and John O'Conner met together recently to discuss the issues on the American horizon. General O'Conner left with Barry Goldwater's enthusiastic endorsement.

Barry Goldwater Jr. has spent his life advocating for conservative values, limited government, and defending our constitution.

Goldwater said:

John O’Connor is the embodiment of conservatism, and his conservative values have molded him into one of the best Attorney Generals in the country ... John O’Connor has consistently held the Biden Administration accountable when they overstep the rule of law, and strongly encourage Oklahomans to keep my conservative friend, John O’Connor as their Attorney General.

The election of Oklahoma's Secretary of Education, Ryan Walters , to be Oklahoma's next Superintendent of Public Instruction is vital for our future.

Ryan Walters will return the children of Oklahoma to the authority of their parents.

Because of his support of educational choice, the National Education Association (NEA) has declared war on his campaign.

The NEA is the national teacher's union who advocates for the LGBTQ agenda and Diversity Equity Inclusion (racism) in the classroom.

The NEA funds leftist (Democrat) campaigns. Last week, they committed to spend $290,000 on ads to smear Ryan Walters. This is the largest investment they are making anywhere in America.

I learned over the weekend that this national anti-Walters campaign is now being funded by close to $600,000 and counting.

This pro-LGBTQ and pro-BLM organizations doing all they can to be sure that either John Cox or April Grace and NOT Ryan Walters is Oklahoma's next Superintendent of Public Education.

Your vote for Ryan Walters is a vote to

STOP the NEA influence in Oklahoma!

The NEA's national defeat Ryan Walters in Oklahoma at all costs campaign indicates the threat Ryan Walters is to the far-left's extremist agenda to indoctrinate your children.

They want one of their own in that office. They want either John Cox or April Grace, both current superintendents.

Ryan Walters is Oklahoma's only candidate promoting educational choice and independence from the Federal Government.
