RICK NAGEL of ACORN
by Bob Linn
Rick Nagel is the managing partner of Acorn Growth Companies, a private equity firm which invests in projects working in aerospace, defense, intelligence, and space. He will open his comments with the importance of these investments with respect to maintaining a strong national security posture, as well as to the economy of Oklahoma.
Nagel has also spent a good deal of his career trying to support GOP candidates and conservative policy in our state. This includes his current role on the Board of Regents at the University of Oklahoma.
Rick Nagel is an outspoken critic of the infiltration of cultural Marxist indoctrination of the students there, and wants to see OU become more aligned with the private sector.

Mr. Nagel also used his resources to help in the evacuation efforts in Afghanistan and he will comment on a few of the details of the national politics which impacted the effort.

Finally, he is working to upgrade the educational opportunities of the children of Oklahoma, which ranks 49th in STEM, through developing an aviation school for those wanting to prepare for a career in science or technology.
It is designed to prepare metro Oklahoma City students for college with congruent enrollment, and opportunities in industry through a partnership with Career Tech.

Nagel has agreed to field questions after his
remarks and is able to weigh in on a number
of topics that impact our state.

Conversations on Education

The Third Week of the Month
is only 8 days away!
"OCPAC brings another stellar entertaining, informative, and edifying program with a conversation with former Speaker of the House T.W. Shannon and founder of Every Black Life Matters, Kevin McGary about the importance of choice in education.

Come join OCPAC for lively discussions on needed reforms in Oklahoma public education by two leaders who are boldly proclaiming the truth that the American Dream is achievable for all Americans and how a quality education and freedom to choose is key.

Great Conversation Great Music!
T.W. SHANNON

T.W. Shannon has helped lead the conservative movement in Oklahoma. He made history in January of 2013 when he became the youngest Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives at the age of 34. He was the youngest in the country.

T.W. was the first Chickasaw and first African American to rise to position of Speaker. Shannon is currently President and CEO of Chickasaw Community Bank and also a commissioner for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT).

KEVIN McGARY

Kevin McGary is an entrepreneur, author, and public speaker. Kevin serves as Chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation of California and is an executive with both the Douglass Leadership Institute and the Northstar Leadership PAC . He is founder of Every Black Life Matters.

Kevin has worked 35 years in Information Technology. He is a recognized “Top Performer” in the arenas of Cybersecurity, Enterprise Applications, Application Development Automation and Enterprise Job Scheduling/Utilities. He has participated in a number of “start-ups!”

Kevin leads a collection of proactive individuals committed to developing innovative and new approaches to today's socio/political issues, and with the assistance of elected officials and community activists. Kevin lectures and provides workshops about today's most perplexing issues.

THESE TWO MEN
REPUDIATE CRITICAL RACE THEORY

Their many successes repudiate the Marxist Critical Race Theory lie that America is a racist white supremacist nation or that you must hide behind a woke liberal activist to have a shot at the American Dream. Both men exemplify the possibilities in our great country and are an inspiration to all Americans. They both share OCPAC's conservative values.

BOB LINN
Christendom & The Scientific Revolution
Our speaker this week wields a great deal of influence over the future of education in Oklahoma.

He is resolute in his mission to put a stop to the Marxist infiltration in the University of Oklahoma.

The enemies of Christ and His church have been outspoken regarding their intent to destroy Christendom by capturing our children through mandated education with content mandated by the state.

The greatest asset of a tyranny is a poorly educated citizenry who will obey not divine law, but those at the helm of governmental authority.

Paganism’s system of mythology has done nothing for the betterment of mankind. The opposite may be said of Christendom and its epistemological foundations in divine revelation.
It was a culture immersed in divine revelation (Scripture) that provided the intellectual soil for scientific progress. Rick Nagel’s aerospace project is possible because of men who presumed that the cosmos was the product of divine creation. The technology we enjoy today is the fruit of men who owe their careers in science to the Bible.

Not even a knowledgeable secularist will deny that science exploded in the wake of Christendom and Western Civilization. They will only deny that it had anything to do with the presuppositional foundations of those men.

However, the men whose brilliance and genius made scientific achievement possible were men whose epistemological foundation was the Bible. You will not read this in any of the textbooks used in our secondary schools nor our institutions of “higher” learning.
On page 440 of the third edition of Newton’s The Principia, Newton said:

This most beautiful system of sun, planets, and comets could only proceed from the council and dominion of an intelligent and powerful Being … This being governs all things as Lord over all.

Newton’s interests were as much in theology as in science.

When Einstein thought about the foundations of our achievements in science, his mind went to Sir Isaac Newton. He said of Newton:

His great and lucid ideas will retain their unique significance for all time as the foundation of our whole modern conceptual structure in the sphere of natural philosophy.
A key figure in the 17th century Scientific Revolution was Johannes Kepler. In 2009, NASA launched the Kepler space telescope and the Kepler name appears in textbooks the world over.

Writing to his close friend, Johann Georg Herwart von Hohenburg, Kepler said:

God wanted to have us recognize these laws when he created us in His image, so that we should share in His own thoughts … astronomers are priests of God to the book of nature, they ought to keep in their minds not the glory of their own intellect, but the glory of God above everything else.
Hungarian born Stanly L. Jaki held Ph.D.s in both physics and theology. From 1975 to his death in 2009, he was distinguished professor at Seton Hall University in the U.S.A.  He wrote that the originality of the European scientists resulted from:

The conviction that the universe was the rational product of the Creator and that as Christians they had to become masters and possessors of nature.

Rousas Rushdoony understood that Christianity is the lifeblood of scientific discovery. In his The Mythology of Science, he wrote:

Under the influence of Christianity, science escaped from magic. The purpose of science ceased gradually to be an attempt to play god and became rather the exercise of dominion over the earth under God. The redeemed Christian is God’s vice regent over the earth, and science is one of man’s tools in establishing and furthering that dominion.

For those of you with academic inclinations, I would
recommend James Nickel's Mathematics: Is God Silent?
It is the foundation of much of what I have written here.

James Nickels states in his book:

If Western man continues to aim his metaphysical, epistemological, and ethical blows at the revelation of God in His Word and His Works, Western Civilization will eventually stagnate and die just like the cultures of antiquity.

I write all this to underline the need in Oklahoma and in America to re-discover the Christ who holds the keys to all knowledge. I meant this to be a platform for Wednesday’s speaker who will address not only his investments into the scientific community but also his role in shaping the future of the University of Oklahoma.

Remember two important things.

Vote tomorrow (Tuesday).
The voter guide is below.

Register for the February 15 Tuesday evening session with T.W. Shannon and Kevin McGary. They will speak of the devastating impact of Critical Race Theory and discuss the impact of school choice can have on remediating our inner cities.

Footnote

Leonard Euler (1707-1783) played a key role in the development of the mathematics which has made the scientific achievement of Western Civilization possible. He was the son of a Calvanist pastor in Switzerland.

His devout Christianity drew the sharp criticism of atheists. This included two prominent French atheists, Voltaire (1694-1778) and Denis Diderot (1713-1784).

Knowing of Diderot's ignorance of mathematics, Euler approached him grimly and said:

"Sir, (a+bn)/n=X Therefore, God exists. You reply!"
I'll see you Wednesday for lunch!

God bless!
