Sign up to get your own copy here. | BOB LINN We Need a Copernican Revolution | Last week, I spoke of the fragmentation of America’s Universities and of the fragmentation of education as a whole.
The decay of Christendom and the West has led to the transition from the unified knowledge of the university to the disorganized smorgasbord of what would be more appropriately called a multiversity. Secular thought is scattered, because it is founded upon the product of mankind’s search for knowledge without a foundation in divine revelation.
That is some of what Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn meant to communicate on September 1, 1972, when he published his Nobel Lecture. (He had been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1970, but Soviet politics delayed his ability to provide his lecture.) | He spoke of a unified foundation developed by men who labor as the apprentices of God himself. Men who understand they did not create this world. Instead of the disharmony of the secularist, the Christian sees the harmonious connection of what God has created. This is what a theologian would call thinking analogically, or thinking God’s thoughts after Him. Beginning with the unified message of the Creator, we link science, music, and all the rest of our human endeavors to the foundation of Divine Revelation (Scripture).
Solzhenitsyn addressed the topic of foundations on June 8, 1978 at Harvard’s commencement. He spoke to the graduates about foundations that produce a unified whole as the only foundation upon which culture may thrive.
Solzhenitsyn told those Harvard graduates that “anthropocentric humanism” produces no foundations upon which to build a society. Rather, the foundations enabling the nations to prosper lie in Christianity. | He spoke of the evils of communism and of the soft underbelly of the West which seemed to prefer accommodation. Below, I have assembled some of the statements he made throughout his address to the young Harvard graduates: | A decline in courage may be the most striking feature that an outside observer notices in the West today. The Western world has lost its civic courage. Must one point out that from ancient times a decline in courage has been considered the first symptom of the end?
A fact that cannot be disputed is the weakening of human personality in the West. No weapons, no matter how powerful, can help the West until it overcomes its loss of willpower.
To defend oneself, one must also be ready to die; there is little such readiness in a society raised in the cult of material well-being. How has this unfavorable relation of forces come about? How did the West decline from its triumphal march to its present debility?
The mistake is at the root, the foundation for thought in modern times. Rationalistic humanism or humanistic autonomy: the proclaimed and practiced autonomy of man from any higher force above him. It could also be called anthropocentricity, with man at the center of it all.
A total emancipation occurred from the moral heritage of Christian centuries with their great reserves of mercy and sacrifice. We have lost the concept of a Supreme Complete Entity which used to restrain our passions and our irresponsibility. The West has finally achieved the rights of man, and in excess, but man’s sense of responsibility to God and society has grown dimmer and dimmer.
I think Solzhenitsyn would Agree: We Need a Copernican Revolution of the World's philosophical Foundations
The Copernican revolution enabled mankind to rethink the order of planetary orbits from a geocentric idea to a heliocentric one. Actually, ancient geocentrism taught that the entire cosmos revolved around the earth. | The world today needs a Copernican revolution in the realm of philosophy. A return to Christendom which would restore the integrity of the university by uniting all knowledge under the Revealed Word of God and the idea that the cosmos marches to a divine plan, not a human one. |

The Passion of Christ Actor Jim Caviezel | When Mel Gibson called actor Jim Caviezel to ask him to play the role of Jesus in Gibson's 2004 movie, The Passion of Christ, it was an opportunity to portray his own personal Lord and Savior.
The actor speaks of the spiritual and moral decline of a nation now willing to plead for peace at any price and reminds us that history tells us of the immense risks of appeasement.
He warns us against giving up our freedoms in order to save our own skins by making a deal with our slave masters. And, he reminds us that freedom consists not in doing what we like, but in having the right to do what we ought.
Caviezel spoke of the evils raising their heads in our nation. Covid 19 restrictions, human trafficking, the welfare state, and abortion are among the evils of our day we have failed to fight against.
He admonishes us: "Set yourselves apart from this corrupt generation." "Be saints."

It is time we flush the phony Rs out of the Republican side of the party's ticket.
Joy Hofmeister revealed herself recently to the general public. The only people surprised were those who hadn't followed this charlatan's career.
But there are more still lurking in key positions.
One of the things I saw while working for Governor Frank Keating and Tom Daxon (then SA&I) was the way that the bureaucrats who had obtained their jobs because of their lifelong Democrat status scurry to re-register as Republicans as they saw the state's voters turning R.
Much of the problem in reforming the layers of corruption and incompetence (see the scandal at the Oklahoma State Department of Health as a recent example) that had built up over nearly a century of one party rule have been these 'lifelong' Ds who changed party. Their views of major issues did NOT change with their party affiliation.
Case in point is the current State Auditor and Inspector Cindy Byrd. Ms. Byrd's job performance more closely mirrors that of the person who hired her---former State Auditor and convicted criminal Jeff McMahon who to no one's surprise was a D.
Ms. Byrd was recently exposed by a friend who did the research as one of those lifelong Ds who only changed parties when it became more advantageous to be a R.
Anyone who read her 'audit' of Epic Charter schools would be on target if they suspected that Byrd and Hofmeister conspired to try to attack the biggest threat the public school establishment saw to their monopoly.
The recent Grand Jury exposed the sham that Ms. Byrd's attempt to smear Epic was when they returned ZERO indictments despite her multiple accusations.
Her attempt to bury the truth of the recent Department of Health scandal by obfuscation and attempted intimidation of Bob Linn's pursuit thru Open Record's requests is more indication of which party she really belongs in.
This state deserves another Tom Daxon, who as you may recall exposed the huge county commissioner scandal. Give us an honest and principled State Auditor and Inspector and events like occurred at the State Department of Health would be caught quickly and exposed. | PRESERVE OKLAHOMA'S FUTURE Help us Find an Auditor | WANTED

It is important to expose these enemies who have crept into Christendom. These have entered our Christian institutions in an effort to destroy the Church. The "gospel" they promote will bear no fruit. Marxist ideology mixed with Bible verses will produce neither salvation nor the health, peace, and prosperity of civilizations.
Marxist concepts like social justice, critical race theory and the myths inherent in the concept of "white privilege" are ungodly, contrary to all of the Scriptures, and represent evil and destructive weapons designed to destroy the church, the family, and societies. They are drenched in narcissism and hatred.
