| BOB LINN BLM's War on U.S. Cities | As a thirty-nine-year-old novice, Bernie Sanders registered a minor political earthquake by becoming mayor of Burlington. It was Vermont’s largest city and it was Bernie's first serious effort to forge a version of his “political revolution.” And, his debut into municipal politics was indicative of the power he would one day wield over America's largest cities.
That was 1981. It laid the foundation for much of what we see in America's cities today.
Now, nearly 40 years later, the impact Bernie's socialism is having on the cities of America is emblazoned in the embers of Black Lives Matter (BLM) rubble from coast to coast. | The revolution, now on fiery display in America’s largest cities, is a revolution many years in the making. Certainly more than 100 years of mandated government education has played the major role. However, one of the cornerstones was established in Bernie's Vermont.
A 39-year-old Bernie Sanders dethroned Burlington's well-entrenched establishment.
The victory was considered a stunning upset. An outcome no one could have imagined with profound and unforeseeable implications for America's future. | He was one obscure socialist seeking to forge a political revolution at the municipal level. | Today, Bernie and the Democrats are touching almost every major city in the United States.
Sander's presidential campaign did more than solidify the strength of America’s new-found socialism. It provided the clout he used to develop the very effective political organization, Our Revolution. It has organized and funded political races in cities all across America.
Our Revolution supports, promotes, and elects progressive candidates from school boards to the U.S. Congress. | Our Revolution has changed City Council Races in Oklahoma! |
From Bethany to Oklahoma City to Norman, Bernie Sanders and Our Revolution is impacting City policy in Oklahoma. |
I have written before of the close relationship between Bernie Sanders and the Communist Party U.S.A. (CPUSA). See our April 13 article here.
The same relationship exists between the CPUSA and BLM. The objectives are identical and BLM is promoted by CPUSA.
CPUSA PROMOTES BLM |
CPUSA SHARES TALKING POINTS WITH BLM |
ALL BLM FUNDS ARE DIVERTED TO DEMOCRAT PARTY | Those under the illusion that donations to BLM are funneled to projects designed to preserve and better the lives of Black Americans need to do additional research. An insidious organization hides behind a nice sounding label.
Go to the BLM website and select the donations link. The BLM donations link sends you to the ActBlue website.
ActBlue is a fund raising arm of the Democrat Party. It was established in 2004 to enable the political left to raise money on the internet. Its mission statement is to "empower small-dollar donors". ActBlue has funneled billions of dollars to leftist causes. |
ActBlue handles all donations which are given to BLM. Its two top recipients are ... | Socialist Bernie Sanders was the lead recipient at $186 million. Biden followed with $119 million
Then, many more millions of dollars to a long list of Democrat candidates.
| BLM is funding the political campaigns of White people.
FOMENTING RIOTS & POSTING BAIL | Last month, three protesters in Oklahoma City were charged with terrorism. Numerous others have been charged with rioting, inciting riots, and assault & battery on a police officer.
The Rev. T. Sheri Dickerson is the executive director of BLMOKC. She referred to the rioters who were arrested as political prisoners. In all, BLM provided $2.1 million in cash bonds to secure the release of the rioters. (A cash bond is not financed through a bail agent.)
What would this $2.1 million have done politically in Oklahoma to establish a Black Lives Matter call to shut down Planned Parenthood and the Oklahoma abortion clinics as the racist, murdering, hate groups they are?
The Family Research Council called Margaret Sander, "racist eugenicist extraordinaire." See article by Arina Grossu, Director, Center for Human Dignity. ______________________

More than 5,000 residents are signed up for Unite Norman and its campaign to gather 22,000 signatures in order to recall the mayor and 4 Norman city council members. | It has made national news! | The petition was filed last Friday and signature gathering began Friday night. After only one day, an excess of 5,000 signatures were gathered to petition for a recall of the mayor and four city counsel members. Unite Norman has 27 more days to get the additional 17,000 needed. | SENATOR JAMES LANKFORD Navigating Potomac Swampland | James called me last week to engage in a personal chat about the firestorm which had developed regarding Columbus Day. He was kind and respectful. I invited him to tell his story today with our readers across the state. Thank you, James! ~Bob Linn __________
July 10, 2020
Contrary to the news stories and social media, I am not trying to end Columbus Day; in fact, I actually like Christopher Columbus.
I was as shocked as anyone that social media and some in Conservative media accused me of “joining the mob” or “trying to appease the rioters” because I was a co-sponsor of Ron Johnson’s amendment on Juneteenth and Columbus Day. I am very aware that this struck a nerve.
I understand that people are tired of seeing anarchists and those who want to re-write American history tearing down statues and monuments around the nation while others stand by and watch. Our nation has a rich history full of great, good, bad and ugly moments and people. For over two centuries we have worked to make a more perfect union, with many mistakes, but it is still our story together. No one should tear down the images of our story or try to obliterate our history.
I recently re-read George Orwell’s book, 1984. As you may remember, in that novel the main character works in the government office called, “The Ministry of Truth.” His job was to re-write anything in history that did not line up with the current government’s position and create new propaganda for the future. I am appalled to see our nation drifting toward that same line of thinking. The past is something to learn from, not to run from. We do not have to be proud of every moment in our history, but we should not try to erase it either.
Here is the backstory: Earlier this year, Senator Ed Markey (MA) introduced a bill to make Juneteenth a federal holiday. As you may know, Juneteenth, celebrated every June 19th since 1866, marks the anniversary of the day African-Americans in Texas were finally informed of the end of slavery in our nation – they were the last group of slaves to learn that they were finally free. Juneteenth, Emancipation Day, is a day in our history that redefined the meaning of freedom and equality in America.
The week of June 29th, I was informed that Senator Markey’s Juneteenth bill was going to move by unanimous consent, meaning every Senator in the Senate had approved of the additional federal holiday. But, when I asked the cost of the new holiday the day before the bill was scheduled to clear, I was told each federal holiday costs American taxpayers around $600 million a year for paid time off and bonus holiday pay for federal employees. While I support Senator Markey’s bipartisan legislation, I believe we should also remain cognizant of the impact the existing 10 federal holidays have on our nation’s more than $26 trillion debt. Each federal holiday is also another time that Americans cannot get their mail, go to their bank, or get thousands of other federal services.
As such, I joined Senator Ron Johnson’s (WI) amendment to remove Columbus Day from the list of paid federal holidays and instead add Juneteenth. I have absolutely no problem recognizing and remembering each year what Abraham Lincoln did in the middle of our Civil War that changed the course of our nation for the better. Freedom for every person and equal status under the law is an American value we should all celebrate.
The amendment did not abolish Columbus Day as a celebrated holiday or attempt to erase history. We would still recognize Christopher Columbus and Columbus Day every October, just without losing an additional $600 million for an additional paid federal holiday. There are many other recognized American holidays we celebrate that are not paid federal holidays, such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day, Halloween and Flag Day, but they are still holidays.
I believe saving federal tax dollars should be considered every time we have a vote. Currently, only 21 states in the nation recognize Columbus Day as a paid holiday. Very few people in the country celebrate Columbus Day with special events or gatherings, even though Columbus is a very important part of our American history.
As I have stated publicly, the original amendment was intended to start a conversation about the cost of adding an additional federal holiday. Columbus Day was never at risk. These conversations have led to a number of suggestions on how to save the taxpayer dollar, and I look forward to working with Members to find other ways to manage our enormous federal debt. The amendment was always about protecting the hardworking taxpayers of Oklahoma who want their government to be more efficient. That is something we should all care about, especially in this season of very high spending and skyrocketing debt.

p.s. Be sure to come to OCPAC's meeting this Wednesday at Randall University. Hear one of my fantastic Senate aids, Jack Cargill. His capacity to work in the U.S. Senate convinced me he has a very bright future! | IRRELEVANT CHRISTIANITY Autonomy and the Death of God By Bob Linn | First, my thanks to Dr. P. Andrew Sandlin for his inspiration to write this. His more lengthy treatment may be found here.
A favorite phrase of the modern evangelical is: "It’s not a religion. It’s a relationship.”
It sounds good in passing. But, is it true?
It depends on what you mean by religion. And, it depends on what you mean by relationship.
What too many Christians mean by relationship is a casual association which is simply both beneficial and enjoyable. A mutual understanding between two people who make few, if any, demands on the other.
The idea mirrors the sinful way our first parents thought about their relationship with God. Both Adam and Eve considered that the reasoning capacity so graciously bestowed by divine providence worked just fine in either of two ways. Reason could function well either connected to or disconnected from Divine revelation.
In other words, they could function as God’s creatures in God’s created order without regard for disclosures articulated by the Creator Himself.
This is known as human autonomy.
God allows mankind the option of living without reference to the One who created them. Autonomy occurs when he chooses to do exactly that.
As far as much of the 21st century church is concerned, being a Christian means a pretty good dose of human autonomy in both thought and deed. The moral nature of any particular thought or deed that seems to make us happy is never questioned.
The "Christian" part is when we add a touch of warmth and fondness for "God". That would be, of course, God as we imagine him to be. God as we want him to be.
Regrettably, the "God" of the 21st century church approves of all the things we approve of. And, he is also a God who disapproves only of the things we disapprove of.
Because we like ourselves as we are, we imagine God does too.
We don’t actually like him for who He actually is, because we have spent so little time reading our Bibles. We don’t actually know all that much about him. We just imagine we really like Him, because in the absence of Divinely inspired objective truth, we have molded Him in our own image.
We imagine God created in the image of man. The reverse of the idea that He has created us in His image. ... and, for His glory!
For the 21st Century church, "religion" is unappreciated subject matter. The "woke" church views "religion" as a bad thing.
It is viewed as bad because it requires that we think analogically (presupposing God's Word as our epistemological foundation) and not autonomously (presuming my own personally imagined realities).
Religion is a word that involves a system of thought founded in Divine doctrine and creed. It is what our first parents chose to do without. Ignorance of Divine Revelation has had a devastating impact on human history. The devastation is conveniently blamed on God for allowing us the option of autonomy, or free will.
We love our free will. We also love to blame God for the many evil consequences of having used it to live out our ungodly fantasies.
Many critics of their Creator muse that if God were righteous, he would not have allowed such human independence. Rather, He would have mandated we think all our thoughts in a way that is tied to the integrated whole of both His Divine Creation and Revelation.
Ironically, the criticism is itself grounded in autonomous thought.
Those who have repented of their inclination to rival God also desire His leadership in all areas of life. As such, they discover a completely different perspective. Their criticism of God evaporates. As submissive image-bearers, they become His joy-filled vice regents on the earth.
It is the 21st century's impoverished Christianity which has given America Bernie Sanders socialism and the politics of Venezuela. Impoverished Christianity has produced the impoverished mayors who have allowed BLM to burn, loot, and riot freely.
May the 21st Century Church repent and find that Old Time Religion that established nations and blessed entire civilizations. May we restore the Biblical foundations of the West and the Christian liberty which came with it.
Dr. P. Andrew Sandlin and Dr. Everett Piper both weigh in appropriately below. | The Church Has Lost Its Religion | The 21st century church has been reduced to cultivating the individual’s private devotional hobby. The Sunday laser-light show and mood music fit well with the preacher’s magnetic personality, his looks, and his voice. None of this hinders the Tuesday night divorce and the anorexic recovery programs.
Don’t forget the focus groups. Groups designed to ascertain and implement changes to make the church attractive to the depraved appetites of autonomous worldlings. They feel good about 21st century Jesus because he makes them feel good about themselves. | So, when government judged churches “non-essential” the 21st century feel-good church saw no reason to resist. No, the church is now a ward of the state.
This is the religionless church, the church that refuses binding to her Lord, the church that defies God and fears man, the church that covets earthly approval and spurns heavenly approval, the church driven by its sentimental heart strings and not the certain trumpet blast of the Word of God.
More recently, the religionless church has been easily propagandized into “white guilt” over “white privilege” and maneuvered into supporting the culturally Marxist Black Lives Matter. White Christians bow before and wash the feet of black Christians in capitulating to a new racism obliterated by the gospel of Jesus Christ (see Gal. 1:6–10; cf. 3:23–29; Eph. 2:11–22).
The church has lost its religion. _______________________
This is taken from the conclusion of Dr. Sandlin's recent article
For brevity, Dr. Sandlin's points were edited by Bob Linn | EVERETT PIPER The Church of Holy Wokeness | Welcome to a neo-Marxist church that talks more about class conflict than the good news of salvation, a church of division rather than unity, one of us versus them, of the 99% versus the one, a church of the proletariat versus the bourgeoisie, of balkanization rather than the B-attitudes.
Welcome to a church that has more in common with the Cultural Revolution than it does with the Cross of Christ.
Welcome to a church of racists pretending to stand against racism, a church that marches for “love” while fomenting hate.
Welcome to a church that is shamelessly intolerant while it pretends to be tolerant, a “non-judgmental” church that rushes to judgment.
Welcome to a church that categorizes people by the color of their skin rather than the content of their character.
Welcome to an “affirming” church, a church that tells you you’re “born that way” rather than you must be “born again.”
Welcome to a church that bows before men while standing against God.
Welcome to a church that worships what it sees in the mirror while denying what it reads in the Bible.
Welcome to a church that has exchanged the truth of God for a lie, a church that worships the created rather than the Creator; a church that has been given over to a debased mind and reprobate heart. ______________________________
As always, Dr. Piper is calling the church to awaken from its slumber and provide the Biblical leadership without which society will crumble.

It has served to apply the fixed Biblical standards which built Western Civilization to the Oklahoma Legislature.
They have, in recent years, teamed up with OCPAC to assist in evaluating the many bills of the session to select a group of ten which most represents a posture of either conservative or leftist.
Your legislator's votes are marked as a "C" if their vote on the bill was representative of a conservative vote. An "L" indicated the vote was representative of a member of the political left. A "Z" indicated that the legislator did not vote on that bill.
Legislators are awarded 10 points for each "C" and no points for each "L". We grant 3 points for a "Z". | MORE DETAILED INFORMATION Oklahoma's Top Conservative Legislators
