Published Monday, June 8 2020 | | THIS WEDNESDAY We begin developing the 2020 Conservative Index
OCPAC is joined by the staff of the Oklahoma Constitution to develop the 2020 version of the Conservative Index of Oklahoma's Legislature.
We will present the important bills which passed both Legislative chambers and came to the Governor's desk. These bills have come from a number of our conservative Legislators as well as members of the OCPAC Executive Committee and the editors of the Oklahoma Constitution.
We will present the most liberal and the most conservative bills. These will be voted on the following week to determine the top 10 pieces of legislation which best reveal if a legislator is conservative or a leftist.
Ron McWhirter and Steve Byas, publishers of the Constitution, will moderate the meeting.

| BOB LINN COURAGE An Oklahoma Asset | Cowardice Just Cost the State of Nebraska the National High School Rodeo Finals
With late-breaking news this past Friday afternoon, Oklahoma clinched its second national event in less than a month. We won them from states still in fear of the long-debunked hypothesis of a COVID which shut down economies world-wide with its bluster.
The human carnage never materialized. The predictable economic disaster did.
However, growing concern of a rapid recovery is brewing among some Democrats. All this, thanks to President Trump, Republican Governors, and Republican mayors. Their release of the economic strangleholds have allowed the return of the vast multitude of industries so essential to the livelihood of all Americans. | COMING TO OKLAHOMA
The National Finals The National High School Finals Rodeo | The NHSRA membership consists of over 10,500 members from 43 states, five Canadian provinces and Australia. | Last Monday, the niece of OCPAC President Emeritus, Charlie Meadows called "Uncle Charlie" to let him know that the state of Nebraska had just cancelled the National High School Rodeo Finals scheduled for Lincoln’s rodeo grounds.
His niece's daughter is expected to be a team roping finalist in the upcoming National High School Rodeo. | Pete Ricketts, the timid Nebraska Governor, and the Nebraska Health Department were afraid that even the revised and much-reduced prognoses from the CDC and Anthony Fauci might be even half right. | Ricketts is a registered Republican, but I imagine he might be a political cross-breed. | "Uncle Charlie" wasted no time in contacting Oklahoma's Lt. Governor, Matt Pinnell.
Matt responded in a text to Charlie that he had been aware of discussion on social media on the subject.
So, Charlie texted him key phone numbers and email addresses of the National High School Rodeo Finals and the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie. | By Friday morning, the decision was between North Dakota and Oklahoma. Charlie reminded Matt that Oklahoma has the advantage of being centrally located. It has major interstate systems in all directions, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment.
Oklahoma has the added "cowboy" advantages of Pioneer Woman in Pawhuska, the Ben Johnson Museum, and, of course, the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Center. (Formerly The Cowboy Hall of Fame.) | At 4:50 P.M. last Friday afternoon, "Uncle Charlie" Meadows received a text from his niece informing him that the deal was done. At 5:10, a text from Matt Pinnell said simply, “Got it!”
Thanks to Governor Kevin Stitt and an administration that is not cowering in the darkness of medical illiteracy, Oklahoma has landed what will be millions of dollars of money spent here by contestants and their families, friends, and rodeo enthusiasts from 43 U.S. states, 5 Canadian Provinces, and Australia! | COWARDS LOSE The Courageous Win | THERE IS MORE
The 2020 National Junior Angus Show just “Relocated West” from Pennsylvania to Tulsa, Okla. | In light of the state of Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 guidelines, the American Angus Association has decided to move the 2020 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS) to Tulsa, OK! | “After much discussion, it was concluded that it was in the best interest of the health of the Angus family to move the 2020 NJAS to Tulsa,” said Jaclyn Upperman.
Jaclyn is the Director of Events for the American Angus Association.

OCPAC CONTINUES CALL FOR CAMPAIGN FUNDS
OCPAC has endorsed and funded some of the finest candidates we have seen in a while. A total of 15 candidates from legislative districts all over Oklahoma. This group includes some mature, thoughtful, and accomplished individuals. If elected, we will have taken a major stride in the effort to return our Legislature to a conservative body of law makers.
If you are an OCPAC member, you will receive the list of their names and districts early this week. We will reveal them to the entire email list on June 21st. _______________________
THANK YOU for the many generous contributions since last week's newsletter.
Time is short. We ask you to again provide OCPAC with your best gift to help get these candidates elected.

This is political not medical. Watch the 20 minute video here. | G.W. BUSH Opposes Trump's Re-election | Players on the same team? | Neither George W. Bush nor Laura Bush voted for Donald Trump in 2016 according to the Wall Street Journal and other news outlets.
Laura Bush actually publicly endorsed Hillary, but claims she did not cast a vote for President in 2016.
This all leaves little doubt that deeply embedded at the top of the Republican party are those who love globalism far more than they love the America our founders crafted for us.
This past weekend, the New York Times reported that neither former President George W. Bush nor Republican Senator Mitt Romney support the re-election or Donald Trump.
By the grace of God, Donald J. Trump was elected in 2016 without the support of these folks. OCPAC pointed out the contrast between the globalism of prominent Republican leaders and the Nationalism of Donald Trump in our May 25 edition.
Lets pray that God will give Donald Trump four more years in November. | Oklahoma Republican Party Fourth District Chairman, Steve Fair, has made this the subject of his weekly comments.
Steve does an outstanding job drawing the contrast between globalism and nationalism. He also points out the many policy differences between a Trump presidency and a Biden presidency.
All this to demonstrate the true political colors of many of those at the top of our party.
Find Steve's article in his blog post, Fair & Biased, here. | STEVE ANDERSON Globalism China's Mission Ravaging the U.S. Taxpayer | Paul Krugman is the liberal globalists’ favorite economist. Hands down. More than twenty years ago, he wrote this: | “The economist’s case for free trade is essentially a unilateral case: a country serves its own interests by pursuing free trade regardless of what other countries may do. Or, as Frederic Bastiat put it, it makes no sense to enact protectionist policy in response to foreign tarriffs ... that is like blocking up our harbors because other countries have rocky coasts.” | On the other end of the spectrum of politics, the alleged conservative globalists have their own bevy of economists.
One is Donald J. Boudreaux, professor of economics at George Mason University. For eight years he chaired their economics department. | Last week, he wrote an article for the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER). | He said, “the best course for each government – if it truly wishes to ensure maximum economic performance at home – is to keep its market free regardless of policies pursued abroad.” | In my younger days, I espoused a similar economic trade theory as Krugman and Boudreaux. However, I had the advantage of a much wiser and more broadly experienced family member. | My uncle, Jon Anderson, served as National Security Council General Counsel in the first Reagan Administration. With his political experience in the Reagan administration, he was able to change my perspective.
While I was still in my younger years, he made a very simple point to me. He said, “If you believe that Russia is a country whose political system and laws you would be comfortable living under then your theory probably works.” | Now, substitute China for Russia. His statement rings as true today as it did then. Unilateral acceptance of China into the global market place was undertaken based on the mistaken theory was that it would change China.
Instead, China changed the global market to suit its own needs and objectives. The world ignored China’s private and public stances. The free world thought that after 50 years of relative ‘openness’ China’s leaders would suddenly become advocates of liberty. | The stark reality is clear. Only two categories of people could ignore China’s long-term plan: The politically naïve or the agenda-driven globalist.
| The China Strategy, in their own words, “focuses on high-tech fields including the pharmaceutical industry, automotive industry, aerospace industry, semiconductors, IT and robotics.” They intend to dominate those industries.
The recent virus issue exposed more than just China’s cavalier attitude to the citizens of Western Civilization. China’s Wuhan demonstrated their resolve to leverage the industries they already controlled. This one thing is abundantly clear: it is not just industry that China wishes to ‘dominate.’ | The U.S. consumer is now the financier for the Chinese military expansion and buildup of their industry. Thanks to our having brought China into the World Trade Organization (WTO). | A WTO partnership is acceptable with an ally. It is fatal when a “partner” is bent on supplanting your country as the world’s superpower.
Globalists don’t seem to recognize that unilateral free trade carries profound risks which extend far beyond economics. Policies which create an imbalance favoring a country whose system of government approaches a dictatorship are the pernicious enemies of freedom. | China’s treatment of the Uighurs and their actions in Hong Kong present a clear case. This is not a government that we should ever accept as the world’s most powerful nation. If the average U.S. citizen cannot ascertain this, we are in deep trouble.
The globalists have sold us a phony bill of goods. Trump has been the first president to recognize and truly confront this threat. We are not just talking about dollars and cents. At the foundation is the risk that freedom and the nations which represent “We the People” may be replaced by authoritarianism. Government control of every aspect of your life. | The following chart shows the net effect of bringing China into the World Trade Organization (WTO): | China, the pernicious enemy of freedom, is moving through the World Trade Organization as well as the United Nations to ascend to the throne of global control. We must allow Donald Trump another four years to continue to unravel their ruthless and savage grip. | ~ by Steve Anderson Edited by Bob Linn | STATEWIDE MEDICAID Myth & Fact Kaitlyn Finley OCPA Policy Research Fellow | On June 30 Oklahoma voters will decide whether or not to increase medical welfare entitlements to able-bodied adults aged 19 to 64 who make less than 138% of the federal poverty level. If State Question 802 passes, this Medicaid-expansion provision would be added as a new article to the Oklahoma Constitution. As the debate surrounding State Question 802 continues, here are some common myths and facts about Medicaid expansion. Myth #1: The federal government, not Oklahoma taxpayers, will pay for all Medicaid expansion costs.
Fact: Oklahoma taxpayers will share a significant portion of costs if the state expands Medicaid. If everyone eligible signed up, it could cost taxpayers up to $374 million annually. Oklahoma’s current Medicaid program already accounts for nearly a quarter of state spending. Myth #2: Expansion will keep rural hospitals open.
Fact: 17 rural hospitals in 11 expansion states have closed after their state expanded Medicaid. Myth #3: Medicaid expansion will guarantee all Medicaid recipients will receive equal access to care.
Fact: Able-bodied adults will be prioritized over the elderly, blind, low-income children, and those with disabilities because states receive higher reimbursement rates from the federal government for costs accrued by new able-bodied adults under Medicaid expansion than for traditional Medicaid recipients. Myth #4: Expansion will help the most vulnerable Oklahomans get health insurance coverage.
Fact: Oklahoma’s Medicaid program, SoonerCare, already gives free coverage to low-income children and caregivers, as well as to the elderly, the blind, and the disabled. Myth #5: Expansion will create thousands of jobs for Oklahomans.
Fact: 11 states and the District of Columbia lost nearly 7,500 hospital jobs one year after expansion. Furthermore, offering free government health care to able-bodied adults, coupled with higher than normal unemployment checks, may disincentivize many from securing gainful employment. Myth #6: Low-income Oklahomans have no access to affordable health insurance.
Fact: Low-income workers in Oklahoma who make up to 222% of the federal poverty level or those who are temporarily unemployed may have access to state-subsidized health insurance plans under the Insure Oklahoma program. Furthermore, 60% of those eligible for expansion in Oklahoma already have private insurance through their workplace or the individual insurance market.
