Book Recommendations | | Government in the Family's Education Business by Bob Linn | Ryan Walters will speak to us about the condition of government education in Oklahoma and the need to return educational authority to the parents of the children.
As citizens of the United States, we have become accustomed to seeing governmental agencies at all levels owning and operating institutions and businesses. | The U.S. government is highly experienced in the postal delivery business. In 1775, the Second Continental Congress appointed Benjamin Franklin as the first Postmaster General.
The service was reorganized in 1971 as the USPS. Unlike UPS and FedEx, relative upstarts who are reporting billions in earnings, it is unable to find a way to break even. It finished last year more than $13 billion in debt and losing nearly $4 billion. It was unable to make the $6.9 billion in payments due to employee pension and health benefit accounts. More information here. | The government’s ability to operate educational institutions does not appear to be much better. Back in February of this year, then University of Oklahoma President, James Gallogly, noted the university’s debt was in excess of $1 billion and the institution was on track to lose another $15 billion before the close of the fiscal year. More here.
The validity of government schools is fodder for discussion. (Government schools are the 10th plank of Marx’s Communist Manifesto.) Governmental competency to run educational institutions would make for good discussion. However, when government requires taxes of its citizens to aid them in their family's God-ordained, private educational needs, then requires them to spend it in the government-run institution, an ethical line has been crossed. | If I were to find that my social security check could be spent only in a government store, I’d have reason to be upset. Unable to use it to pay my taxes, mortgage, utilities, etc. would make me feel a bit cheated.
The same goes for education. We could debate whether the government has a role at all in my family’s educational development. However, to levy a tax for this sacred parental duty and then to limit the use of the funds to a government-endorsed product crosses a moral line. Just as I should be allowed to spend my retirement funds (and I am) where and how I choose, so should a parent be allowed to spend funds collected for the purpose of educating his children where the parent chooses.
Hope to see you Wednesday! |
Last Week Dr. Scott Lively GeoPolitics | Dr. Scott Lively brought an incredible amount of knowledge regarding international political movements and a very strong word for the American church. He spoke also of the historic Christian fabric of the Russian people.
| POLITICAL MINUTE Steve Anderson When Agencies Lie to Voters | AGENCY AUTONOMY How Bureaucracies Erode the Fabric of America
We are in a Constitutional Crisis, but it is not of Trump's making. It is from powerful government bureaucracies gone rogue.
From all appearances, the problem permeates the institutions from top to bottom. | This latest episode with the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, is an outstanding example. | CIA whistle-blower, Sue Gordon, epitomizes the worst of government bureaucrats and damages every other bureaucrat with her actions. Simply saying she is a "political activist" agent gone rogue does no justice to unveiling the damage this woman has done to the United States. Her private desire to bring down a sitting President has eroded any sense of public ethics she may have once possessed. She used her position to attempt to altar the voter's choice for President.
Her relationship with discredited former CIA head John Brennan has long been a question mark. Her recent act answers that emphatically.
She resigned August 8th. I think that is a nice way of saying that it had become clear she was a security threat and she needed to be forced out.
Then, on August 12, a letter surfaced. It accused the President of high crimes with zero real evidence. Only her previous position gave this charlatan any credibility. Every high ranking Democrat legislator was aware of this.
That credibility was blown out of the water by the transcript but nonetheless the security of this country was badly damaged by this woman.
Traitor is not too strong a word for someone who would use their position as an EMPLOYEE of the President to make private conversations with world leaders public. This traitor to America's welfare has damaged the ability of our President to have open conversations with other world leaders about sensitive issues. Her high crimes have put our nation at risk.
It is long past time that we hold these people accountable and start prosecuting them under the many federal statutes that exist around 'secret' intelligence issues. | The CIA and FBI are clearly not friends of the American voter or citizen but contain a group of people who believe their personal views trump those of millions of voters. With high ranking officials like Sue Gordon, it is clear why we have had botched intelligence reports. Incompetence from the CIA on issues have led us into quagmires. For example, the weapons of mass destruction report! Thousands of Americans have died while we tolerated a CIA that allows people like this woman to climb the ranks.
I, for one, do not buy the standard line that this is a problem only at the tops of these incredibly powerful organizations. If there are patriotic, honest CIA and FBI employees they need to step forward and start calling out this sort of behavior and bias when they see it. Otherwise, nothing short of a massive turnover in management of these cesspools will correct what is clearly the biggest threat to our Republic in my lifetime. | | For complete details and to purchase tickets: Go to eventbrite.com here. | | The OCPAC compact with City Elders is significant for both organizations.
