BOB LINN

Gifts to honor the King

This will be my last newsletter

until Monday, January 13, 2025.

I will be taking a brief time out enabling me to spend uninterrupted time with family and to read and reflect.

Your passion for the cause of returning our fallen culture to its Biblical foundations has been inspiring to me.  Your words whether in person or by email have provided much encouragement for the mission.

Last week, one of our foundation’s board members urged me to do two things.  The first was to take some time off.  The second was to ask you to consider participating with the mission through your year-end giving.

As I think you all know, I am not compensated for my time and for many of the expenses I incur in producing my articles and our events.

Writing the newsletter and producing our meetings at the Oklahoma History Center easily occupies more than 40 hours of my time each week. This includes navigating the many schedules of all those involved, hosting and transporting speakers and VIPs, and programming the actual events in detail.

I am not paid to do the work I do. Nor am I reimbursed for the considerable library of books and materials which I purchase to do the writing. Some of these are rare books and can be quite expensive.

Finally, Jane and I also support the ministry with a healthy amount of giving of our own. I am not asking you to participate in a way Jane and I are not doing.

To encourage you to consider helping us . . .

I think you all know our China expert, Alex Gray, who served the Trump White House for four years as Chief of Staff of the White House National Security Council (NSC).  He is also CEO of American Global Strategies.

Alex has served an important role as a board member of the OCPAC Foundation and offered this very kind and unsolicited email last week:

Bob,

I enjoyed our call yesterday.

It prompted me to put a few thoughts in writing about your leadership of the conservative movement in Oklahoma and about OCPAC.

I have been thrilled by my involvement in the organization. One of the things that has struck me is just how significant YOUR personal leadership is- indeed, in my observation since returning to OKC in 2021, you really are the heart and soul of the grassroots movement in our state.

Through your unique combination of faithfulness, intellectual curiosity, deep and broad learning, and commitment to the cause, you have raised the tone and seriousness of the debate in Oklahoma.

I look forward to continuing to work with you in the years to come as we restore a Christ-filled culture to our state and nation.

Best,

Alex

Wade Burleson is the board member who encouraged me to take a one-month hiatus from what has been a six-year uninterrupted procession of producing meetings and writing articles.  Wade has given substantial amounts of money allowing us to purchase equipment and pay our publishing fees.

Last week, Wade wrote a note for this morning's newsletter:

I know of no better 501c-3 profit in Oklahoma that is worthy of support than the OCPAC Foundation. President Bob Linn and his wife Jane are state and national treasures, and through Linn's leadership, I am better equipped to defend Constitutional and Christian principles. Rachelle and I give generously to the OCPAC Foundation every year, and we encourage you to do the same.

In closing, a note from former Oklahoma Attorney General, John O'Connor. John and I have spend much quality time together and his wife, Lucia, is one of our board members.

Over the weekend, I asked Lucia if she or John wanted to say something in our closing newsletter of 2024.

John spoke of the Christ-centered focus of our organization with this note to all of you:

Dear OCPAC Family,

As we continue to pray for our State and our Country, we wish you a blessed Christmas filled with the love and peace of our Savior. May the light of Christ shine brightly in your hearts this season bringing joy and hope to you and your loved ones.

Lucia and I thank you for your friendship and look forward to an exciting and fruitful New Year.

Why I am Asking for You Support

It costs us a few thousand dollars each year just to maintain the ability to publish this newsletter. The cost of hardware and software we use to create the quality you enjoy in this newsletter is pricey.

In addition, our website and broadcasts represent costs that are substantial and on-going.

Then, there are the costs associated with the speakers themselves and the venue rental which is only partially offset by the $5 entrance fee to attend our meetings.

With your help, we will continue to press for high quality content and presentations to represent the Christian voice of Oklahoma in a way that brings respect to the cause.

Our goal is to expand our message to an ever-broadening audience to complete our mission for a cultural transformation and a return to the Christian foundations upon which our nation’s greatness stands.

Any amount you can send our way from $1 on upward will help us continue with the mission of restoring the Biblical foundations of our Western culture and our American heritage.

God bless!

Bob Linn
